Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF 3-C6 & AFFF 3F-C6)

DESCRIPTION

HD Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF)
In fire suppression systems, Aqueous Film Forming Foams (AFFFs) are widely used, especially for fighting fires involving hydrocarbon-based flammable liquids such as gasoline or oil. AFFFs are highly effective because their foaming agents react with water to form a dense foam blanket that rapidly spreads across the burning surface. This foam layer cools the fire, suppresses flammable vapours, and cuts off the oxygen supply, preventing re-ignition. Due to their fast-acting and reliable performance, AFFFs are commonly employed by fire departments and integrated into fire suppression and extinguisher systems for enhanced fire control and protection.
HD AFFF 3-C6 and HD AFFF 3F-C6 are synthetic AFFF concentrates formulated with new-generation C6-based fluorinated surfactants, making them environmentally safer. These foams are a blend of C6 fluorinated surfactants, hydrocarbon surfactants, and solvents, producing a thin yet durable film over hydrocarbon fuel surfaces. This film seals the surface, preventing fuel vapor release, while the foam blanket spreads rapidly due to fluoro surfactants, excluding oxygen and providing a cooling effect for fast flame knockdown and extinguishment. Designed for use at a 3% solution in fresh, sea, or hard water, HD AFFF 3-C6 is UL Listed, and HD AFFF 3F-C6 is both UL Listed and FM Approved, ensuring superior, reliable performance in industrial, marine, and high-risk environments.
